Engagement Photo Session

Save the Date!

That's right, we set our date: September 22, 2012!

We will be getting married at the Duke Chapel with a reception to follow at the Duke Gardens.

Our Story

Erik and Jacquie are both graduate students in the Department of Immunology at Duke University, which is how they met. Though they had known each other for over a year, they didn't really begin to spend time together until the semester that they were both teaching assistants for an introductory immunology course. Finally, Erik worked up the courage to ask Jacquie out, and they have been inseparable ever since.

After only a few months, Erik started thinking about the ring. He was so excited upon receiving it that he proposed while they were making dinner. Fortunately, Jacquie thought it was adorable and said Yes!

Things to do in Durham

Duke University - where we met and spend the vast majority of our time, and home to a pretty awesome basketball team

Nasher Museum - Duke University's art museum has three different galleries, a cafe and outdoor sculpture garden

Museum of Life and Science - an interactive museum that has an insectarium, butterfly house and dinosaur trail, among several other exhibits

Brightleaf Shopping District - local shops and restaurants now occupy these former Liggett & Myers tobacco warehouses

Durham Performing Arts Center - the premiere location in the triangle for live entertainment, including broadway plays, comedians and musicians year-round
